As we begin our holiday season, many of us preparing Thanksgiving dinners for a significantly smaller crowd this year, it would be easy to see only the chaos and misfortunes that 2020 brought. However, all of us at Exsalonce feel it’s important to still spend some time this season appreciating what we have to be thankful for, and we encourage you to do the same! Here are the top 5 things we at Exsalonce are thankful for in 2020…
1. Everyone who has supported Exsalonce through 2020.
Since the start of the pandemic and the temporary closure of salons, we have received an outpour of love and support from our clients and the Roscoe Village community. 2020 has presented some trying times for small businesses, however it has been so comforting to see how many of our loyal clients and neighbors care about us and have been here to support us in any way they can.

2. Exsalonce Salon turned 20 years old!
20 years ago, a 20 year old aspiring business owner and recent immigrant to America, Tony Odisho invested everything he had into making his dreams a reality when he opened Exsalonce Salon. Then a small neighborhood salon with little to no reputation or clientele to start, Exsalonce has grown into a five star luxurious retreat salon specializing in extensions and education that still services many of those very first clients who took a chance on Tony 20 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the next 20 years has in store for Exsalonce!
3. Our amazing team of stylists and staff at Exsalonce.
We are so thankful for our team and Exsalonce who have stuck with us through the uncertainty this year has brought. Each and every one of them have stepped up since our re-opening in June to help create a familiar and safe salon experience for everyone at Exsalonce. We’ve kept each other inspired, motivated and hopeful for the future, and without each of those things Exsalonce wouldn’t be where it is today.
4. Family.
Whether we are spending this holiday season with them or not, we are all appreciating our family and loved ones a little extra this year. Those of us who are not able to spend the holidays with family are also very thankful for Facetime and Zoom!

5. The beauty industry.
As hair professionals, all of us at Exsalonce have a passion for the beauty industry. This year, while faced with many challenges as a result of the pandemic, the beauty industry as a whole has shown its’ resiliency and ability to adapt to the “new normal” of 2020. From at-home color kits, video consultations, online education and more, stylists all over the world have come together virtually and found creative ways of staying relevant in a time where our usual hands on services are not an option. This has proven to us all just how strong the industry is. Finding new ways of helping our clients look and feel beautiful reminds us why hair is not only a passion but a lifestyle for all of us at Exsalonce. We’re so excited to see what the future holds for the beauty industry!
